These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of barbiebrief.com, the email newsletters we send, and any related services (together, the "Service") operated by BarbieBrief ("we," "us," or "our"). BarbieBrief is a daily intelligence briefing delivered via email and the web, edited and signed by Insurrection Barbie. The Service includes the daily brief, the archive of past briefs, long-form articles cross-published from Substack, the Wire (a curated index of third-party commentary), and related editorial features.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We're a small operation; features ship and change.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service or to subscribe to the email list. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
The Service is operated from California, United States. If you access it from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
To receive the daily brief, you provide your email address. By submitting your email, you consent to receive the daily brief and occasional related communications from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email or by contacting us at the address below.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any access credentials and for all activity that occurs under your subscription. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
All content published in the daily brief, the archive, the long-form articles, the editorial layout, the brand identity ("BarbieBrief," "Insurrection Barbie," related logos and avatars), and the underlying code of the Service is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and read the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not allow you to:

The Wire and other parts of the Service include links to and excerpts from third-party publications. The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers, subscription fees, or premium features in the future, with reasonable notice. Free email subscriptions will remain free for content published while you were a free subscriber. Any paid features introduced will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase.
You may terminate your relationship with the Service at any time by unsubscribing from the email list. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service, in whole or in part, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.
Upon termination, the licenses granted to you under these Terms cease, and the provisions that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will BarbieBrief, its operators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages, however caused and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100) or the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BarbieBrief and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
You and BarbieBrief agree to attempt informal resolution of any dispute before pursuing formal legal action, by contacting us using the information below and providing thirty (30) days for us to respond and attempt resolution.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we'll provide additional notice (such as an email to subscribers or a banner on the Service). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
